Upcoming Shows
Bad Art by Good People represents what we believe about creating. Art is for everyone. It’s for artists, it’s for bankers, civic leaders, teachers, contractors, parents, and children. The Bad Art by Good People exhibition challenges people in our community who do not normally express themselves through art to give it a try! We ask our participants which medium they might be interested in, and then partner them with teaching artists. Our artists have spent the summer meeting up in studios and homes after their day jobs and on weekends, making their pieces to show in our gallery.
The opening reception for “Bad Art By Good People” and the partner show, “Ozarks Icons” will be during First Friday Art Walk on September 4 at The Creamery Arts Center, from 5-7 pm. Made possible by the McQueary family.

Lyal Strickland and The Propane Accessories Highlonesome Music Festival 2026
The Rising Revisited is a special concert at the historic Gillioz Theatre that will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026. This event will not only commemorate the 25th anniversary of the tragic attacks on our country, but will serve to remind people of the sense of community that was built in Springfield and across the country under the worst of circumstances. The concert will draw inspiration from a performance of Bruce Springsteen's award winning album, "The Rising," featuring area musicians, led and accompanied by The Mixtapes and the Central Springfield Community Choir. Recollections by local residents of the days and weeks following that tragedy will be shared in videos through the evening. The Rising Revisited will also honor first responders and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Greene County 100 Club, an organization that works quickly to assist the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
WoodSongs is a live audience celebration of grassroots music and the artists who make it. The program airs on hundreds of radio stations, PBS affiliate stations and schools. WoodSongs is produced 40 Mondays a year.
